Today (April 23rd)
The Ice is out! Official ice
out was declared on 3:17 PM on Monday April 23rd.
Old Man's prediction:
April 23
April 21, 2007
The ice is officially gone from the bay, but not the whole lake.
April 20, 2007
The ice is almost gone from the bay. There is a small band between
Goveror's and Timber Islands. Ice out should be soon.
April 19, 2007
Notice the bands of open water. This ice is thin, and it is moving.
Don't be surprised if the bay is clear by tomorrow.
April 17, 2007
April 16, 2007
The water is brown from the huge run off. The water level has risen over a
foot since yesterday. The high winds, the high water, and the warmer water
temperature (38) will do some serious damage. Stay tuned.

March 21, 2007
First day of spring?
March 19, 2007
Only one inch of ice..on top of 8 inches of snow..on top of 15 inches of ice.
Don't get depressed, but look below to see what the ice looked like last year
March 17th, 2007
Oh no..12 inches of insulation to protect the
hearty ice.
March 15th, 2007
Today: It is feeling like spring, although the thick ice does not looked
scared. The lake got a late freeze this year (some crazies were boating in
January). But February made up for lost time, with bitter temperatures,
and no snow to insulate. Result: Thick ice.
Don't put your money on March, but don't go into May either.
The old Man
of the Lake says April 23rd. You can bet your boat on it.
Reminder: We had open water this time
last year.
